1. when did you become as crafter? Marisa and Maranda have always been crafters -- it's in our blood from both of our parents. We've both done our share of different crafts which include - painting, quilting, crocheting, and decorating. We started doing paper related crafts in 2004 when Maranda was pregnant with her daughter. She had just moved back to Louisville from Rochester, NY and a friend had asked for her help on making some cards. Well Maranda recruited her sister to help make them and some samples for another set of possible cards. We loved making them that we thought "how about we make them for our family members to save money" so that began ZeVin Creations. We slowly were making them for friends who were placing orders and now we are retailing them online, in local stores, and at various shows/events.

2. how did you come up with ( stores name)? The name ZeVin Creations comes from the sister’s parent’s name (ZE – Zenolia Miller and VIN – Marvin Miller). God had blessed their parents with these girls who impart have been blessed with the talents that go into making these pieces of art. We both felt that it would only be right to let our parents know how much we appreciate them with their names being in our business name.

3. do you get your supplies online or off? We get our supplies from various places -- online and off. But we primarily get items off at fabric, scrapbooking, craft, vintage stores. As well we sometimes take items we already have at home and use within a card -- you can easily get an inspiration from something that you look at constantly!

4. what does diy mean to you? DIY means that you use your various skills to put together a work of art that can be either for display or for use. The biggest important aspect of DIY is that is is "HANDMADE" aka "HANDCRAFTED". The key word here is "HAND" which always shows that someone cares, took time and thought into making it, and our favorite thing -- it is "One of a Kind"!

5. what new item do you like the most? Our newest product that we really like is our "Minis". They are just like the one side cards you get at floral shops or with wrapped gifts but you can open them and they are decorated. The best thing about them is that it reiterates our tag - "A Gift Within A Card" - for even the Mini can serve as a gift with or without a package or flowers.
